17:10.44youtahDid you see Bill Nye is betting the Meteorologist Joe Bastardi (denys climate change) $10,000?

17:13.25youtahand then he wagered another $10k that the next decade will be the hottest on record

17:44.04fozzmooyoutah_: The problem with Nye's bet is that he and Bastardi probably didn't agree on how the measurement would be done.
17:44.42fozzmooMany skeptics question the "hottest year on record" claims given other measurements that say global warming has been on hold or is in decline for the last 18 years.
17:45.09fozzmooIt's so strange that coincides with sunspot activity. *big eyes*

17:47.20fozzmooSo, I bought a Minecraft account for my son in November 2012. Then, a month or so ago, they told him he needed to transition his Minecraft username to a Mojang account based on his e-mail address.
17:47.33fozzmooSomething awful happened in that transition and his account was lost completely.
17:48.01fozzmooMy son e-mailed their support people and explained. They said: Send us the transaction ID from your original purchase e-mail.
17:48.28fozzmooI went through my Nov 2012 e-mail and found a message saying "The amount of USD 26.95 has successfully been debited from your credit/debit card" but nothing containing any kind of ID.

17:54.23keldwudthey have a farmers market up there that's pretty kickin
17:54.31keldwudand lots of stuff happenin in their "downtown" area

19:51.48MigsO-town is the original
20:21.59TodPunkJust read online: "Whole Foods Market. I dont want just another garbage food store. I need less toxic chemicals in my food choices on store shelves. Our world has way too many toxic filled choices already. Please make wiser choices when you feed the people in your town. Lehi City, Better is better."
20:22.33TodPunkI don't even know how to address this, but I do feel it's somehow youtah's fault.
20:22.42jfindlaythe good earth ftw
20:22.59jfindlayhipster before hipster was even a thing
20:23.24TodPunkI should just buy normal stuff from the grocery store and run it through "magnets" to detoxify it and sell it that way.
20:24.03youtahepicac and exlax, detoxing since (insert random date)
20:24.05jfindlayif the price makes you uncomfortable and the label looks homemade, you can be confident it hasn't been pasteurized by all those toxic chemicals
20:25.07jfindlaywell, to get a multitesla field, you're going to need superconducting electromagnets
20:25.42jfindlayand right away, you're using liquid nitro: a dangerous chemical
20:25.53TodPunkdon't need that much power, just enough for the placebo.  I'm thinking a cardboard box with "magnets" written on it.
20:26.26jfindlayI think you'd be better powering your electromags with wholesome solar energy
20:26.38TodPunkI'll put the box outside, sure
20:26.48jfindlaysounds like a win
20:28.14TodPunkPretty sure every mention I've read of someone using the word "toxic" and "chemicals" in a sentence that wasn't from a chemist was either a joke or an indication that this person was very special and should be preserved for experimenting on.

21:31.54MigsI like every movie I watch. The way I see it, a LOT of people put a LOT of their time, money, and effort into it, often millions and millions of dollars, and all they ask is that I pay less than $10 to watch it at the theater, or even $1.50 off Redbox. The LEAST I can do is appreciate and enjoy it and find the redeeming qualities of the work they created.
21:32.56MigsI wouldn't go to a kids' science fair and make fun of the volcanoes kids built. That would be rude and make me a horrible person. Instead, I appreciate the effort the kids put in. Likewise, it would be just as horrible to not appreciate the movies people create.

22:50.55frostyfroghasn't tried it out in a long time, so it may be better than what it used to be. It may be less resource intensive...

22:52.02TodPunkfrostyfrog: server, not desktop
22:52.55frostyfrogTodPunk: makes sense. I guess it was the desktop version that was bloatful.
22:53.09TodPunkYeah, I don't use linux desktop except at work
22:53.59EnembyI have a bunch of linux servers/etc
22:54.08Enembybut I never really use a linux gui
22:54.26RyanEeh, it's not too bad as a desktop.  Oh wait, I'm on Mint.
22:55.09frostyfrog's GUI consists of dwm, IRC client, virt-manager, firefox, and a crap ton of terminal windows.
22:55.32RyanEMine's terminal, terminal, terminal, terminal, Chrome.
22:55.37frostyfrogRyanE: Yeah. Xubunut would run fine on my old netbook. Ubuntu would run sluggishly.
22:55.39RyanE(tabs)
22:56.10RyanEOf course, that's what runs on my work MacBook Pro as well.  Terminal, Terminal, Terminal, Chrome, Windows VM
22:56.57TodPunkon Windows I'm typically running chrome, quassel, winamp, a couple putty shells, a powershell, some explorer windows and one of a myriad of text editors
22:57.03TodPunkOh, and steam
22:57.11TodPunkthat's a thing that I run and then never use anymore =c(
22:57.46TodPunkIf I'm doing something that's linux kernel specific I will run virtualbox, but that's not as often, because I typically just do so on a server
22:58.17frostyfrogWindows for me is generally, steam (sometimes I game), Chrome, windows explorer, multiple putty windows, Furcadia and Skype.
22:58.53frostyfrogServers <3
23:00.58TodPunkThis install is going to be hopefully what becomes my router/firewall, since pfsense won't do quite all what I want
