13:32.42lufIt's strange. Maemo can have different event-type-id on different devices/or stock versus cssu? It's about rtcom.

15:11.34JoHnYOk, I have found what was the problem with the MAP not working on my n900, thanks to luf. As he said, there is a different event-type-id for sms messages in my phone as it's hardcoded in obexd, so I had to change the id in source and recompile obexd, now it works fine

16:25.12freemangordonpong
16:25.28freemangordon_ade_: sorry, was fighting with my PC :)
16:26.01_ade_regarding glibc: do I have to run the prep.sh script to extract stuff?
16:26.22freemangordon_ade_: dpkg-buildpackage should do everything for you
16:26.26freemangordonmerlin1991: ping
16:27.21freemangordon_ade_: BTW I fixed some bugs in libcityinfo on gitorious, please pull (if not already)
16:27.52_ade_okay, I build your libcityinfo, seems to run fine
16:28.17freemangordonthe initial version had a bug :)
16:28.23_ade_glibc: look like I need to install texi2html
16:29.09freemangordonif it says so
16:29.19_ade_:-)
16:30.45freemangordonI'd be surprised if this is the only package you'd need to install ;)
16:31.00_ade_well, it is working hard atm
16:32.48freemangordonnice, I hope you have enough cores
16:32.48_ade_will I end up having the source I can modify, or am I getting a deb?
16:33.49freemangordonyou'll get a .deb :). but you can check how the patches in debian/are applied, and make your patch in a similar way
16:34.42freemangordon_ade_: sorry I am not much helpful, but I migrated my desktop from XP to Ubuntu and stll have pendig stuff to install, like ScratchBox :)
16:34.43_ade_Hmm, I don't won't a deb, I want to change the timezone files and related sources :-(
16:34.55freemangordonI know
16:35.23_ade_XP?
16:36.06freemangordonwindows XP
16:36.11freemangordon_ade_: see https://gitorious.org/community-ssu/glibc/commit/8d84927ba14b0d0d2c155ca40e50c55f3f3db03e
16:38.10_ade_But before I could create any diff files I would like to build/test stuff first. What's the way to go then?
16:38.43freemangordon.deb
16:38.52freemangordonI am not aware fo any other way
16:38.57freemangordonmerlin1991: ping
16:39.30_ade_Okay, so: extract bz2 files, change them, bzip them again and create a new deb?
16:40.05freemangordonwon;t work
16:40.12freemangordonyou need all the other patches applied
16:40.38freemangordonso you build a deb, and the work on the extracted sources
16:40.46freemangordonand make a diff against them
16:41.16freemangordonthen put your patch in debian/patches, with an appropriate number and again build a deb
16:43.07_ade_okay, I start to get it I think. Makes it all a bit complicated though :-(
16:45.59freemangordonit is not that hard once you do it 2-3 times
16:46.28_ade_I can imagine
16:46.47freemangordonmerlin1991 did that 2 weeks ago so I wanted him to tell us if there is an easier way, but as you see he is mia
16:48.24_ade_I also changed some gcc settings in scratchbox for glibc compiling as was described on gitorious
16:49.11_ade_it is building the timezone files as we speak :)
16:49.26freemangordongreat
16:53.04_ade_It has finished building about 10 debs. Will see what I can do with it, and thanks so far.
16:53.44freemangordon_ade_: np
16:58.15_ade_freemangordon: latest commits on libcityinfo are a few days ago; I don't see any new commits?
16:58.39_ade_freemangordon: and the test program seems to return duplicates rows?
16:58.59freemangordonyep, those commits are the latest
16:59.09freemangordon_ade_: what you mean duplicated rows?
16:59.19freemangordonthe last test - nearest city?
16:59.54_ade_It gives me 1312 rows, it should be about 350 or so in total.
17:00.56freemangordon_ade_: the way to use the test program is - run it with stock libcityinfo and pipe the output to a file, run it with the replacement (with LD_PRELOAD or whatever) and pipe the output to another file
17:01.05freemangordoncompare both files :)
17:01.28freemangordon_ade_: why 350 rows?
17:01.47merlin1991freemangordon: pong
17:02.08freemangordonmerlin1991: what is the asies way to make a patch agains glibc? how did you do it?
17:02.14freemangordoneasiest even
17:02.22_ade_freemangordon: 397 cities
17:02.27freemangordonmy typing sucks
17:03.28freemangordon_ade_: yes, but look at https://gitorious.org/community-ssu/cityinfo/source/0f0b73ff9fd3bad19cc7b43a9acf097289dbb61b:test.c#L47
17:04.09merlin1991I didn't patch against glibc directly, I patched the build scripts :D
17:05.21freemangordonyep, but still it is .diff
17:05.29freemangordonof, I see
17:05.38freemangordonoh even
17:06.21*** join/#maemo-ssu dafox (~dafox@88.128.80.6)
17:07.03_ade_freemangordon: so what you said earlier does not change in that regard?
17:08.06merlin1991ah yeah _ade_ when you did the scratchbox fix for glibc, you have to reapply it in order to build Qt
17:08.43merlin1991I might look into the Qt build scripts one day, they seem to be more than silly (didn't build on autobuilder either)
17:09.06_ade_merlin1991: what do you mean by reapply?
17:09.13merlin1991revert to original
17:09.54_ade_hmmm, I already build some Qt programs after that gcc file change
17:10.26merlin1991Qt programs are fine
17:10.31merlin1991Qt itself doesn't build then
17:10.51_ade_:nod:
17:50.58freemangordonfine, SB VM is running too

21:32.02_ade_freemangordon: looks like the deprecated dpatch is used for the glibc deb, not quilt? A dpatch apply-all does not change anything it seems, so that would not be needed.

21:58.05_ade_thinks he can better provide freemangordon with timezone patches, as dpatch-edit-patch "patch-name" does not give him a copy of the glibc source package
