01:00.32DocScrutinizer05[2012-09-07 20:15:06] <Earthwings> hi DocScrutinizer05
01:00.33DocScrutinizer05[2012-09-07 20:15:11] <Earthwings> DocScrutinizer05: works fine here without cssu
01:00.35DocScrutinizer05[2012-09-07 20:15:36] <Earthwings> DocScrutinizer05: the reason could be that we subclass QLineEdit to include the inline clear icon
01:00.37DocScrutinizer05[2012-09-07 20:18:27] <Earthwings> DocScrutinizer05: according to http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=1256169&postcount=280
01:00.38DocScrutinizer05[2012-09-07 20:18:34] <Earthwings> "EDIT: This was a more general problem, other programs had problems too. Eventually it went away, I think after upgrading some unrelated package using HAM."

16:18.56micknamehello, i have an annoyance with microb
16:19.27micknamewhen in portrait mode and changing browser windows microb first changes (unnecessaily) back to landscape
16:19.34micknameand only then after that back to portrait
16:20.10micknamei have edited the transaltion-speeds to be faster but its still annoying as hell when openin multiple links in new browser windows
16:20.22micknameis there a fix for that?
16:21.00mickname(and because i was bored as hell and uncertain that i can explain the problem, heres a video of it: http://youtu.be/Njm3oWz-e_k )
16:29.43keriomickname: use it in landscape
16:29.54kerioew, orange theme
16:30.36keriomickname: anyway, portrait for microb is clearly an afterthought, sadly :(
16:32.34keriowhy is this -ssu related, though?
16:46.18micknameoh yeah it probably strictly speaking isnt, the same thing would happen wuthout ssu if holding the phone in portrait
16:46.25micknamei didnt realise that :)
16:47.06keriomickname: anyway, microB is closed, sadly
16:47.13kerioso there's really no way to fix stuff like that, i'm afraid
16:47.34micknameok. i thought it would be a microb thing, it jsut assumes that when gianing focus its in landscape
16:48.21micknameand i do mostly browse in landscape if the page is wide but some pages work really great in portrait mode
16:48.29micknamewell thanks anyways

21:33.21Sicelobtw, lol, as nice as ke-recv is, now i have too much stuff being indexed from my ext3 SD card with Nemo. i could edit tracker.cfg, but that would affect other μSD
21:33.39Siceloi'll be umounting for now
22:55.57kerioDocScrutinizer05: have you found a way to fix qt?
22:58.28DocScrutinizer05mickname: I think I recently read somewhere in a changelog or commit comment: "stop unnecessary rotation when switching tasks bla bla bla"
22:59.04DocScrutinizer05mickname: *maybe* it's a bugfix in most recent microB which freemangordon and others are working on
22:59.33DocScrutinizer05or was it fireforx? or the rendering engine?
23:02.08DocScrutinizer05Sicelo: nice point, indeed we should think about how to solve that. Are you aware ke-recv mounting script has a hook to selectively avoid mounting of particular partitions depending on whatever you can probe via cmdline?
23:04.18DocScrutinizer05probably the proper fix would be to augment trackerd.cfg semantics to exclude not only by path globs but maybe also by calling arbitrary extrernal binaries/scripts with parameter $pathname and not indexing that $pathname when that calle dbinary/script returns non-zero
23:04.42kerioDocScrutinizer05: how do we differentiate a partition with Nemo on vs a data partition with music on?
23:05.51DocScrutinizer05e.g by uSD/parrtition UUID=
23:05.53DocScrutinizer05?
23:06.03keriono, i meant a new uSD
23:06.20DocScrutinizer05eh?
23:06.27DocScrutinizer05not at all
23:06.34keriowhat should we default to then?
23:06.46DocScrutinizer05or you might want to chack if a nemo-specific file is on the partition
23:06.56DocScrutinizer05check, wtf??
23:07.05DocScrutinizer05my typing sucks even more than usually
23:07.13kerioi'm not talking about just nemo
23:07.51keriosi
23:07.55keriowhoops, wrong window
23:08.15kerioDocScrutinizer05: there's no good rationale, apart from asking the user, for indexing or not indexing a partition
23:08.56DocScrutinizer05well, nothing a script couldn't do, don't you think so?
23:09.18DocScrutinizer05[2012-09-09 01:04:18] <DocScrutinizer05> probably the proper fix would be to augment trackerd.cfg semantics to exclude not only by path globs but maybe also by calling arbitrary extrernal binaries/scripts with parameter $pathname and not indexing that $pathname when that calle dbinary/script returns non-zero
23:17.55nox-sounds slow
23:22.15DocScrutinizer05not as slow as trackerd ;-P
23:22.36nox-:)
23:22.39DocScrutinizer05kidding aside, it's only called once per trackerd index run
23:23.07nox-ah just for the top dir it wants to index?
23:23.56DocScrutinizer05for whatever shell pattern matches the condition
23:26.06nox-ok but wont the script be called for every subdir it wants to index then at least?
23:26.31DocScrutinizer05if we'd call it for every file/dir that'd be obviously nonsense, so we only call it for special patterns in exclude statement of trackerd.cfg. This exclude statement has a list of... patterns, which either get excluded unconditionally (that's what we already have) or will call a binary when a special syntax for the pattern is used
23:26.53nox-ah ok
23:28.05DocScrutinizer05yeah, I'm a slow coder but a fast and usually exact architect
23:28.15nox-:)
23:28.27nox-just misunderstood...
