20:09.34florian_kchi Philippe_, hi lamikr
20:09.39Philippe_lamikr: I have been implementing some of your wishlist items in gpe-mini-browser. Probabely I'll have a new release by the end of the week.
20:10.21mmpPhilippe_: shouds great:) (I'm just curious, will it render more sites than it was capable previously?)
20:10.34mmps/shouds/sounds/ :)
20:10.52lamikrPhilippe: Really! That's nice. I mostly sleeping 4 days in last week as I went to laser operation to get rid of classes. Now things are ok and I can stand the light again.
20:12.53lamikrPhilippe: Have you been able to do your all changes to gpe code itself or has there been need to update also the underlying libraries?
20:14.19Philippe_lamikr: all in gpe-mini-browser...
20:14.53Philippe_mmp: unfortunately no rendering improvements. Only settings management.
20:15.17lamikrPhilippe: Well, those usability things are important. Have you been able to do the save dialog?
20:15.41mmpPhilippe_: thanks a lot, anyway:)
20:16.13Philippe_mmp: you're welcome :-)
20:16.48Philippe_lamikr: not yet... That needs some more research and hooks into gtk-webcore. I hope some stuff will happen on that front soon.
20:18.17*** part/#gpe jdhoreotg (i=jdhore@pool-71-163-199-224.washdc.east.verizon.net)
20:18.17mreimerPhilippe_: is there any chance of gtk-webcore getting merged into webkit?
20:18.58lamikrmreimer: What's webkit?
20:19.01Philippe_mreimer: I don't know. AFAIK somebody has done some GTK work on webkit, but nothing I could use.
20:19.50mreimerlamikr: webkit is the name of the code that Apple is developing, which started life as khtml
20:19.55mreimerIIUC
20:21.29Kompomore specifically, webkit contains webcore, html rendering engine which is a fork of khtml. webkit also contains other code, such as external apis, networking and "cross-platform" porting library
20:24.52mreimerand svg, yummy
20:24.57lamikrOk, so it is still fork from kde's code? I thought they managed to integrate the code back in the second try.
20:25.22mreimerlamikr: I think they're reasonably close, at least with the rendering engine
20:26.08Kompono, it's really separate. they're bringing webcore into kde4 apparently
20:27.00mreimerlamikr: don't mind me; listen to Kompo :-)
20:28.59lamikrok :-)
20:29.01Kompomreimer: I didn't intend to interrupt or anything.. :) anyway, gtk-webcore is based on old version of webkit
20:29.19Kompoor old version of webcore, without the kit part..
20:29.34mreimerKompo: no, thanks for correcting me. I want to know the true status of things, not merely rumor :-)
20:39.45lamikrPhilippe: How is Nora?
20:45.20florian_kcbrb
20:47.23Philippe_lamikr: doing fine thank you :-) Going to see her thursday evening...
20:48.40lamikrPhilippe: Already on thursday... You seems to be very llll..
20:52.31Philippe_lamikr: I have a meeting on Friday morning in Helsinki at 9am, so I go to spend the night at her place in Helsinki so that I do not have to get up at 6am :-)

21:31.01florianPhilippe_: we should have a makefile target for that
21:31.35Philippe_florian: great!
21:32.27florianhjmm wait, with autotools that should happen out of the box iirc
21:33.53Philippe_florian: btw we will have to change gpe-dist.am, it still seems to use CVS for the tag target
21:34.41florianPhilippe_: yes right, i need to check how to do this with svn
21:36.27*** join/#gpe tnb (n=tnb@sdgsystems.net)
21:47.34tnbhopefully quick question for someone: I'm trying to do a quick Glade demo app for someone who doesn't have full OE installed. I did a SDK for them with all the libs and such (staging/ cross/etc.). I try to run autogen.sh , the ./configure --host arm-linux. Everything seems to work fine except for library dependencies: about 8 -l<libs> are missing from link stage. What did I do wrong?
21:47.56tnbseems like PACKAGE_LIBS is wrong in configure
21:48.22florianPhilippe_: maybe remove that file and check what happens then :-)
21:48.28florianlamikr: wb
21:49.37floriantnb: hi, sounds like something is wrong with the pc files in the sdk maybe.
21:49.57floriantnb: built from oe recently?
21:50.21tnbflorian: hmm, it's a standard build from OE (fam084 release)
21:51.38floriantnb: this tree was split from upstream quite a while ago... maybe they are missing some fix.
21:51.42tnbflorian: I did set PKG_CONFIG_PATH in ./configure to <tmp>/staging/arm-linux/share/pkgconfig
21:52.21tnbflorian: could be, I suppose. I'll try the current OE dev branch and see what happens
21:52.28Philippe_florian: found it. $ make update-po
21:52.31floriantnb: ah i see, you didn't build a standalone sdk, right?
21:53.08floriantnb: you could use one of the prebuilt toolchains if you don't rely on latest stuff
21:53.50tnbflorian: ?? I did set my tmpdir in build/conf/local.conf to <my-sdk-dir>
21:55.05tnbflorian: does one use a different approach to building a standalone SDK other than TMPDIR=<sdk-dir>?
21:55.30floriantnb: ah ok, there is a special target "meta-sdk" for a /usr/local/arm prefixed toolchain as well.
21:56.02tnbflorian: ah, didn't know about meta-sdk. Nice.
21:56.56floriantnb: that gives you a tar archive that can be unpacked to / with the toolchain in /usr/local/arm/oe/arm-linux
21:57.04florianPhilippe_: good
21:58.00floriantnb: for familiar 0.8.4 you should be able to live with this one: http://linuxtogo.org/~florian/sdk/oe-sdk-20060304232054.tar.bz2
21:58.27tnbflorian: thanks
21:58.38tnbI'll give it a try to see if that alleviates this problem
22:00.19floriantnb: if not tell me... i built that one.
22:00.59tnbflorian: had similar problem with oe.dev TMPDIR-based SDK, just a different set of missing libs
22:02.11tnbflorian: need to run off for a short while. I'll test with your SDK and let you know. Thanks again.
22:02.31floriantnb: ok, yw
22:03.49Philippe_There. Last changes checked in. Just need to check the Hildon stuff before releasing.
22:05.30lamikrPhilippe: So the new gpe would be ready in repo? Are you planning to put some tag for it?
22:07.31Philippe_lamikr: only gpe-mini-browser...
22:07.49Philippe_I'll tag it when I verified the Hildon-build.
22:10.03lamikrOk, is there something special I should know if I try to update familiar's bb script to build it? I have worked for updating dbus to 1.0 level and api change in that + other small issues that has forced me anyway to update about 20 bb files anyway :-)
22:12.50Philippe_lamikr: nope. Just using the svn (maybe still called cvs) version to build it should do.
22:14.23lamikrok. Can it automatically configure itself not to use hildon in bitbake env?
22:16.59florianlamikr: it sgould default to non-hildon, iirc it uses the same switch like the other hildonized apps (--enable-hildon) to turn support for it on.
22:27.15Philippe_lamikr: indeed. hildon is optional.
